A pioneering project for the introduction of 5G broadband technology is to be implemented in the Göttingen administrative district. The concept “Health5G.net - Innovative Patient Care through 5G”, which was developed together with the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) and other partners including the GWDG, has received funding status for the project from the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI).

On April 27, 2021, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), together with the Gauss Alliance and the University of Göttingen as well as the Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen (GWDG), will organize a conference on current developments in the field of High Performance Computing (HPC). The conference will take place as an online event.
